Discover the depth of the "MetalScape-Butterfly Garden in the Valley".  It  is a collage which is constructed from brass, copper, nickel, and aluminum.  It is a representation of a rolling hillsides with trees and a beautiful valley of flowers nestled in the landscape.  The world is under a slightly cloudy sky, and there is a special visitor.   The butterfly roams the skies, the hills, and the vales to find just the right flowers.  Lilies and Lilacs, are pierced from brass and copper with hand-cut stems and leaves. They are nestled in the nickel valley. Some floral textures are engraved and some are oxidized.  Hills are slightly textured copper to illustrate graduated rows.  Trees are embossed in the copper to catch the sunlight.  Background hills are oxidized to capture depth of the landscape.  The brass skyline is adorned with crinkled aluminum clouds. Our visitor, the butterfly, is pierced brass with an oxidized background layer.  She is slightly raised up and flying over the landscape.  Each segment is secured to the background with rivets.
