“Duck Out of Water” is a metal collage which is constructed from brass, copper, and nickel. It is a representation of a duck just out of the water in the clearing between multiple bushes. The bushes are embossed in brass and textured with the use of oxidation. The clearing is oxidized to get the shaded effect. The duck, pierced overlay nickel on copper, is happily shaking his feathers dry in the bright sunshine. The nickel mountain ridge in the background was pierced and stamped for a rocky result. The sky is embossed in brass and gleams of sunshine.
Size: 3..5” X 5” metal collage in a 5” X 7” shadowbox frame.

MetalScapes are collages constructed from multiple base metals. Segments are pierced, textured or oxidized in order to vary shapes, textures, and contrasts in a scene. Embossing and stamping may also be incorporated. Some shapes may be domed for a three dimensional effect. All the design segments have been riveted to the metal back plate. The completed collage is mounted in a matt suitable for framing.
