This metal collage is constructed from brass, copper, and nickel. The image is a scenic representation of a Himalayan Siamese cat. The face and paws are copper overlaid on a nickel base. The nickel layer represents the furry body of the cat. Details and shadowing have been accomplished by piercing each layer of metal, applying oxidation, and shading done on the surface.
Size: 4” X 6” metal collage matted and set up in a 5” X 7” shadowbox frame.

MetalScapes are collages constructed from multiple base metals. Segments are pierced, textured or oxidized in order to vary shapes, textures, and contrasts in a scene. Embossing and stamping may also be incorporated. Some shapes may be domed for a three dimensional effect. All the design segments have been riveted to the metal back plate. The completed collage is mounted in a matt and a shadow-box frame.
