“Hummingbird Feast” is a metal collage which is constructed from brass, copper, and nickel. It is a representation of a Hummingbird visiting a garden with flowering bushes. The star of that garden is one large flower that is especially delectable to that hummingbird. This central flower is accomplished by hand cutting brass, adding stamped texture, and then bending and folding it for a realistic look. The golden Hummingbird was created by piercing (hand cutting) brass with the detailed image of a Hummingbird in flight. It is domed for 3-D effect. It also has a slight bit of stamping to suggest shadowing of the contour. The bushes are stamped copper and brass which are molded for effect. The subtle oxidation gives them contour. The garden wall, on the right, was made from copper screen. The whole scene is set up on the nickel backdrop with a brush finish.een multiple bushes. The bushes are embossed in brass and textured with the use of oxidation. The clearing is oxidized to get the shaded effect. The duck, pierced overlay nickel on copper, is happily shaking his feathers dry in the bright sunshine. The nickel mountain ridge in the background was pierced and stamped for a rocky result. The sky is embossed in brass and gleams of sunshine.

MetalScapes are collages constructed from multiple base metals.  Segments are pierced, textured or oxidized in order to vary shapes, textures, and contrasts in a scene.  Embossing and stamping may also be incorporated.  Some shapes may be domed for a three dimensional effect.  All the design segments have been riveted to the metal back plate.  The completed collage is mounted in a matt suitable for framing.
