“Vineyard” is a metal collage which is constructed from brass, copper, and nickel. It is a representation of a cluster of grapes and grape leaves superimposed on the vineyard in the background. The grape cluster had been done by piercing (hand-cutting) the pattern in copper. Stamping has been done to further the detail and oxidation is used for contrast.
In the upper background, the homestead and trees were pierced in brass. The lower portion of the background was accomplished by embossing and engraving in silver foil to resemble the rows of vines in the vineyard. Each row is embellished with a pattern for interesting texture. The nickel backplate is oxidized for a smoky sky. All elements have been riveted to the nickel backplate.

MetalScapes are collages constructed from multiple base metals. Segments are pierced, textured or oxidized in order to vary shapes, textures, and contrasts in a scene. Embossing and stamping may also be incorporated. Some shapes may be domed for a three dimensional effect. All the design segments have been riveted to the metal back plate.
